Alicia Silverstone hints at Peacock’s series ‘Clueless’

American actress Alicia Silverstone, best known for the 1995 classic Clueless, has teased the upcoming Clueless series on Peacock.

During her recent appearance on Today, the actress was asked if she could share any updates about the show.

“Not much,” she quipped, before expressing her hopes for the project as a whole.

“I’m really excited about it,” Silverstone said. “I think we’re going to try really hard. The goal is to make it honour what everyone loves about Clueless and Cher.”

The Pretty Things star is ready to reprise her role as the iconic Cher Horowitz from the original 1995 film.

Silverstone also promised that the new series will “honour” the original.

“So we want to honour that, but also bring something fresh and new to it,” she added. “I’m confident that we’ll be able to do that, but we’re in the baby stages right now.”

Earlier this year, in April, it was announced that Peacock is developing the Clueless TV series.

Writers Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Jordan Weiss are behind the upcoming series, with Clueless creator and director Amy Heckerling and original producer Robert Lawrence returning as executive producers. Schwartz and Savage will produce under their Fake Empire banner, while Alicia Silverstone will also serve as an executive producer.
