BLACKPINK member Rosé ticked off another milestone in the music industry with APT and her debut album, Rosie.
The 28-year-old K-pop star was shocked to learn that she had received eight nominations for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
Taking to Instagram, the singer posted a video message, appearing speechless as she expressed her awe for the achievement. Rose said, “So, I have just heard that I received 8 VMA nominations.”
She added in her story, “I am beyond shocked, and I just don’t know what to say. I am absolutely speechless. This is a crazy day, it’s really wild.”
Netizens rushed to the comment section to congratulate the pop star on making history once again. One fan wrote, “You deserve it, big Rosie.” Another well-wisher penned, “The real number one.”
Rosé's APT was selected in seven categories, including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Visual Artist.
She also gained recognition for her single, Toxic Till the End, in the Best K-pop category.
Notably, Rosé and Bruno Mars released their collaboration song, APT, in 2024, along with a music video. The track quickly amassed success on a global level because of its catchy, upbeat tune.
Later that year, the BLACKPINK member debuted her studio album, Rosie, which climbed the Billboard charts upon its release.
The achievement marked history for the Korean artist as she became the first K-pop soloist to dominate the VMAs.
For the unversed, the VMAs will be held at the UBS Arena in New York on September 7, 2025. It will also air on the CBS network for the first time.
