Controversial internet personality Lil Tay made a polarizing move when she announced the launch of her OnlyFans account.
OnlyFans is a platform that allows creators to share explicit or exclusive content to paid subscribers.
Only having turned 18 on July 29, Tay further claimed that she had managed to earn $1 million within three hours of the launch.
She shared a video to celebrate the milestone, writing, “$1 million in a couple hours. I'm still the youngest one doing it for all the grown a** haters who've been hating since I was nine years old, look at me now.”
The influencer went on to clarify that all the content featured on the account was filmed after she turned 18.
The video showed a generated revenue of $1,024,298.09, achieved through a mixture of subscriptions, tips, and messages.
Tay wrote, “Not bad for 3 hours. We broke the f*** out of that OnlyFans record.”
Her decision sparked conversations online, as some wondered at the authenticity of her claims, while others expressed concern over the amount of subscribers she had gained on an explicit site after only having reached legal age a few days earlier.
