Dolly Parton confessed that she didn’t like the title of the 1984 film, Rhinestone, in which she played the lead alongside Sylvester Stallone.

The 79-year-old actress shared that the movie was originally titled Rhinestone Cowboy, based on Glen Campbell’s song by the same name.

According to the singer, the name gave the idea that only Stallone had a main role in the film.

“Dolly preferred Rhinestone because she didn’t want people thinking that the film was solely about Stallone’s character,” Stephan Miller wrote in the book Smart Blonde.

He added that Parton realised she needed to take more control of her projects because everybody thought that “Rhinestone was Stallone’s baby.”

However, despite conflicting views, the Powerful Women hitmaker revealed she liked working with the Creed actor.

In a 2021 interview with Smooth Radio, the ‘Queen of Country’ said, “I was really impressed with him. He had me laughing, I couldn’t even do my scenes.”

Notably, despite working onscreen for decades, she never considered herself an actress, but more of a musician.

The author of Run, Rose, Run added, “Well, hell, I know I can’t act.” She has been known to play characters that are more like her.

On March 3, Dolly Parton mourned the loss of her husband, Carl Dean. The couple was married for nearly 59 years, tying the knot in 1966.

Following the death of her husband, Parton marked her first appearance in Dollywood to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the park.
