Ellen DeGeneres has spoken out about her status as a talk show host, and revealed that she aspires to return on the big screen.

The host, who was responsible for the highly popular The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was fired because she was found guilty of workplace bullying.

In a recent interview with English broadcaster Richard Bacon, noting that she would pick her next steps in the industry very carefully, and that she misses a lot about her award-winning show.

"I just don't know what that is yet," she said, referring to her next steps, "I want to have fun, I want to do something. I do like my chickens but I'm a little bit bored," Ellen continued.

The former host also noted that she does not know if the format of her television show would work anymore.

"I mean, I wish it did, because I would do the same thing here. I would love to do that again, but I just feel like people are watching on their phones, or people aren't really paying attention as much to televisions, because we're so inundated with information and entertainment," she reflected.

Notably, the 67-year-old retired in 2022, after multiple allegations against her were proven, and her public perception soon went south.

Ellen DeGeneres' departure from Hollywood came after a string of claims regarding a toxic workplace environment on her talk show, leading to its cancellation.

Her subsequent Netflix comedy special, For Your Approval, did not revive her career as hoped, with critics labeling her "unapologetic," "unrelatable," and "insufferable."
