Mariah Carey gave fans a reason to celebrate over the weekend by teasing her highly-anticipated 16th studio album, MC16.
Taking to social media, the pop diva dropped a short video, a nostalgic flash through her past eras.
The 37-second clip ended with a bold and a mysterious promise, “MC16 Announcement tomorrow.”
Notably, this latest drop follows her Saturday post featuring a playful kitchen moment.
The singer was spotted baking treats while her upbeat new track, Sugar Sweet, played in the background.
Sugar Sweet follows her June single Type Dangerous, which was later released with a remix pack featuring industry heavyweights like DJ Snake, Big Sean, and Method Man.
Although the 56-year-old songstress hasn’t spilled too many details yet, she did reveal one key update.
In a recent Apple Music interview, she confirmed that the album is finished.
"What is next? The album coming out. I don't wanna tell too much about it because I just don't want to reveal the whole thing. It's finished," she told.
The chart-topping legend’s confirmation alone was enough to spark major buzz.
Fans were thrilled by the announcement, with one commenting, “This made me so emotional. We’re so lucky to have you, Queen! The LEGACY! We’re ready.”
Another wrote, “Looooooooooong awaited.”
This marks her first full album since 2018’s Caution, and all eyes are now on July 21.
For the unversed, Carey has sold over 200 million albums worldwide, with a career that spans more than three decades.
