Sydney Sweeney's first look revealed for Christy Martin biopic

Emmy-nominated actress Sydney Sweeney has undergone a dramatic transformation for the upcoming Christy Martin biopic, and her first fiery look has officially been revealed.

The film, Christy, is directed by David Michôd, with a script co-written by Michôd and Mirrah Foulkes.

The movie centres on the life of former professional boxer Christy Martin, chronicling her rise as the most famous female fighter of the 1990s, leading up to the shocking 2010 attempted murder by her husband.

On X (formerly Twitter), TIFF shared the first glimpse of Sydney in character as Christy standing in the ring, drenched in sweat, exuding fierce determination.

Wearing red gloves and white boxing gear, she appeared to be celebrating a win.

The first look clearly shows that Sydney has gone through a powerful physical transformation for the role.

Earlier this year, the Hollywood rising star spoke about her preparation for the biopic in an interview.

“I loved it. I came onboard to play Christy and had about three and a half months of training,” she revealed. “I started eating more. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.”

Sydney shared that the intense training changed her body dramatically; she couldn't fit into her old clothes, and her jeans size jumped from 23 to 27.

“My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, Oh my god. But it was amazing. I was so strong, like crazy strong,” the actress said.
