Ellen DeGeneres makes shocking confession about new life

Ellen DeGeneres recently opened up about her sudden decision to move to the English countryside with partner, Portia de Rossi.

During this weekend, the 67-year-old comedian sat down with Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham to reveal the political reason that drove her to the Cotswolds.

“We got here the day before the election," Ellen said, referencing President Donald Trump’s 2024 win.

She added, “We woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in.' And we’re like, 'We’re staying here.’”

Ellen admitted the other reason for their shift was the growing threats to all gender rights under the new government.

She said that her marriage to Portia was at risk with Trump back as President, and the church could ‘literally’ stop it from happening in the future.

Ellen opened up about her gender related queries in 1997 on her show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and married Portia in 2008 in an intimate ceremony in California.

The move marked a new chapter in the comedian’s life after facing allegations of workplace bullying in 2020. The public backlash led Ellen to end the show in 2021, after 19 seasons.

Currently, the lovebirds are enjoying their sweet suburban life, while sharing the experience with their fans on social media.
