Ron Howard sat down for an interview with People where he expressed his feelings over having been nominated in the 2025 Emmys.

Specifically, the filmmaker received the nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in AppleTV+’s The Studio.

Already having three Emmy wins under his belt, he remarked, “I play an a****** version of myself. Apparently, it went over. I have many noms and even some wins on the producing and directing side, but first nom as an actor, which is kind of funny.”

”I’m getting a kick out of it,” he added.

Out of a total of 13 nominations, he has won one each for Jim Henson Idea Man in 2024 (Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program), Arrested Development in 2004 (Outstanding Comedy Series) and From The Earth to the Moon in 1998 (Outstanding Miniseries).

He is one of many stars to play a fictionalized version of themselves in The Studio, of which several join him in the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category including Dave Franco, Martin Scorsese, Bryan Cranston and Anthony Mackie.
