Oasis fans without tickets attempted to "storm Heaton Park" on Friday as the band began the first of their five-night stay there.

Video shows metal fence panels on the ground, and it has been reported that police had to step in when people tried to enter the sold-out event.

In their hometown of Manchester, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher gave a performance in front of an audience of 80,000 people.

However, some people who couldn't get tickets to the event seemed to try to jump the fence by themselves.

A witness told Manchester Evening News that "about 50 people" attempted to "rush" one of the gig area's internal entrances.

Ten people were believed to have entered, but the newspaper stated that the remaining individuals were "apprehended and turned away."

Later, the police confirmed to MEN that "no one made it through to the concert area."

The only UK performances outside of a stadium were at Heaton Park, a 600-acre public park in Bury and Manchester. The other performances are at Murrayfield, Wembley, and the Principality Stadium.

Numerous lucky music lovers were able to enjoy the band's opening night at Heaton Park "for free," which was a treat for fans elsewhere.

Some were able to watch the performance on TV, while others paid hundreds of dollars to attend the reunion gig.

The sound of cigarettes, alcohol, and morning glory could be heard throughout Prestwich as the pair performed Don't Look Back in Anger.
