Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) withdrawing from the headline performance, the BST Hyde Park festival has cancelled its July 13 music event.
On the advice of his doctors, Lynne, 77, who was scheduled to play with his band on Sunday for their final show together, decided not to go because of a "systemic infection."
The event is regrettably be cancelled on Sunday, July 13th, following the announcement that Jeff Lynne's ELO will not be able to perform at BST Hyde Park due to medical reasons, the organisers said in a statement on Saturday night.
"Ticket holders will receive a refund and get in touch with their ticket agent directly for more information."
"Tonight's performance marks the final night of an incredible edition of BST Hyde Park, and we look forward to seeing everyone next year," the statement continued.
"Jeff Lynne is devastated to announce that he will not be able to perform at tomorrow's BST Hyde Park show," read a previous statement from BST.
Jeff has been dealing with a systemic infection and is currently being treated by a group of medical professionals who have informed him that he will not be able to reschedule or perform at this time.
Jeff is very sorry that he is unable to perform, but he understands that he needs to prioritise his health and recovery at this time. He is thinking about the band's legacy and his devoted fans today.
