Signature acquires Nick Offerman’s ‘Sovereign’ in major deal
Signature Entertainment will now distribute ‘Sovereign’ in the UK and Ireland
Nick Offerman and Jacob Trembley’s crime thriller movie Sovereign bought by the British film distribution and production company Signature Entertainment for the Ireland and UK audiences.
Concourse founder and CEO Matthew Shreder negotiated the deal with Signature’s development and acquisitions manager Katie Wilkinson Javes.
In addition to that, Briarcliff Entertainment acquired Sovereign rights for distribution in North America in May 2023, three months after the cast announcement.
American action film written and directed by Christian Swegal, starring Thomas Mann, NancyTravis, Martha Plimpton, Dennis Quaid, Nick Offerman as father and Jacob Tremblay as son.
Filming started in February 2024, in metropolitan areas of Arkansas including Fayetteville and Lincoln. It took almost one month to complete recordings and was premiered on June 8, 2025, at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Wilkinson Javes commented on winning the huge deal: “Sovereign is a kind of stop you in your tracks movie that Signature always searches for.”
“United Kingdom and Irish fans will never look at Jacob Tremblay or Nick Offerman as before later this year,” Javes concluded.

Signature highest ever hit release is the Terrifier 3 which premiered on September 19, 2024 with gross earnings of $90.3 million. The movie starred David Howard Thornton as lead role.
