Julian McMahon quietly passed away at 56, and the celebrated actor’s cause of death was revealed by his wife, Kelly Paniagua.

The Australian actor, who got married in 2014, took his last breath in Clearwater, Florida, on Wednesday, July 2.

In a statement to the media outlet Deadline, the Nip/Tuck star’s wife unveiled, “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”

Kelly went on to praise the late actor by informing friends and fans that he loved life, along with his family, friends and fans.

The author also noted that Julian only wanted to spread positivity and smiles into people’s lives, she also asked fans and followers to allow the family to grieve in private.

Julian’s legacy is carried on by his only daughter, Madison “Maddy” McMahon, whom he had with his second wife, Baywatch actress Brooke Burns.

Notably, the FBI: Most Wanted star’s father was the former Prime Minister of Australia, but instead of pursuing a career in politics, the now-deceased actor decided to follow his dreams into the acting world.
