Brad Pitt has dropped hint about a possible reunion with Tom Cruise for the sequel to his latest film F1.
The new high-octane racing movie was released on 25 June, 2025 and carved out a strong position on global box office, earning $140m in its opening weekend.
Speaking about the possibility of a follow-up to the F1 movie in an interview with The National, the two-time Oscar-winner actor said: "I would want to drive again, selfishly speaking.”
The Fight Club star stated: F1 is still the focus. It needs to be on Joshua Pierce and the rest of the team fighting for a companionship.”
Where does Sonny [Pitt’s character] fit in? I’m not sure. Sonny’s probably out on the Bonneville Salt Flats, setting speed records or something like that. So I’m not sure beyond that, just yet,” Meet Joe Black actor added.
According to Variety, Apple is already discussing the possibility of a follow-up movie.
Moreover, the director of Top Gun: Maverick and F1, Joseph Konsinski has already envisioned the sequel starring both Pitt and Cruise as leading actors.
Previously, Konsinski planned to bring both actors together in racing drama Ford v Ferrari.
However, the F1 actor and Top Gun star passed on this opportunity because there weren't many driving scenes in the movie.
It has been over three decades since Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise appeared in 1994’s Interview With the Vampire, based on Anne Rice’s best-selling novel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter’s report in 2024, Tom Cruise was actively looking into making a sequel to the NASCAR racing movie.
