Christopher Nolan's ‘The Odyssey’ gets harsh criticism for THIS reason

After the global success of Oppenehiemer in 2023, Christopher Nolan was expected to go bigger with his next project.

Nolan’s next project was revealed to be based on the historic Greek epic, Odyssey, written by the Ancient Greek poet Homer.

The movie’s poster was released online but the trailer was only available to be watched in cinemas ahead of the screenings of Jurassic World Rebirth.

After the trailer made rounds and more people ended up watching it, it has come down to one reason that even Nolan fans believe the movie can flop.

Everyone is talking about the apparent American accents in the trailer that is being critcised.

American accents in Hollywood movies are common but this movie is based on Greek mythology which has left the fans feeling unsure about the trailer.

A fan wrote on X, “Saw the Odyssey teaser and the American accent immediately took me out of it…”

Another wrote, “everyone in the odyssey has an american accent......... flop”.

The movie is scheduled to release on July 17, 2026.
