Queen Bey continues to spark strong reactions in the music industry as her bluegrass/country album becomes a polarising topic.
Cowboy Carter controversially won both Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year at this year’s Grammy Awards.
While many praised Beyoncé for breaking barriers with her daring project, others refrained from calling it a country album.
Curiously, Cowboy Carter did not receive any nominations at the Academy of Country Music Awards held back in May.
Despite the controversy, the album has performed well on streaming platforms and remains a top three album on Apple Music.
However, this success has drawn criticism from Gavin Adcock, who expressed his frustration at a recent show.
In a viral video, the 26-year-old was heard saying, "That sh*t ain't country music," while raising a bottle of alcohol.
Adcock also accused the Crazy in Love artist of taking attention away from singers like him, who have devoted their careers to the genre.
The Georgia native later shared a video on social media to first praise Beyoncé then double downed on his stance.
Beyoncé is focused on her Cowboy Carter Tour, with only eight shows left before wrapping up on July 26.
