Cardi B accused of stealing new track ‘Outside’

Just as fans thought this was going to be the summer of Cardi B, the singer comes face to face with another controversy.

The raptress has been posting adorable photos of her three children and recently made her relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs Instagram official.

The WAP hitmaker also seems to have finally sorted out her issues with ex-husband Offset, who has given his blessing to Cardi and Stefon.

However, the 32-year-old is now facing accusations of plagiarism after a North Carolina singer made bombshell allegations on social media.

On 28 June, Rissa Reign went online to claim that the Bronx native’s latest song Outside is a copy of one of her unreleased works.

Reign claims that she wrote the song with the same title a few years ago and Cardi’s new hit “sounded very familiar to her.”

The singer said that she never officially released her single but uploaded a demo on YouTube.

“Even if it wasn’t Cardi herself, somebody on that team heard the song,” Reign continued. “The coincidence for you to say Outside and the beat sound the same… that’s just too close.”

Cardi promptly responded to the allegations and said “BE FOR REAL!” to the accuser on her Instagram Story before concluding with “BEAT IT!”

The track was released on 20 June and is already setting hip-hop charts on fire but the theft accusation now puts an asterisk beside all these achievements.

When did Cardi B and Offset get married?

Cardi B and Offset secretly married each other in September 2017 but did not publicly disclose it until October 27 of the same year.

The two initially filed for divorce in September 2020 but reconciled the following month.

Cardi filed for divorce for the second time in July 2024 after announcing that she had been "single for a minute" the previous December.
