Emma Stone’s latest collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos has come to the surface after Poor Things, starring in the upcoming sci-fi comedy film Bugonia.
This is the fourth time the La La Land actress reunites with the Greek filmmaker.
Focus Features, on Thursday June 26, 2025 released the first teaser of Bugonia, featuring Academy Award winning actress as the lead role, alongside Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone.
The upcoming movie, according to Variety, is a remake of the 2003 South Korean sci-fi comedy Save the Green Planet.
The story revolves around two conspiracy-obsessed men who kidnap the high-profile CEO named Michelle (Emma Stone) of a major pharmaceutical company on the suspicion of her being an alien intent on annihilating the Earth planet.
Written by Will Tracy, the recently-released teaser also stars Teddy Gatz in Plemons’ character, surrounded by honey bees.
Chairman of Focus Features Peter Kujawski while speaking with Variety last year, praised Lanthimos and upcoming film’s cast choice: “Yorgos Lanthimos is a cinematic visionary with a singular style that has captivated audiences worldwide. We could not be more excited to partner with him, Emma and the incredible team.”
Poor Things star was last seen at Eddington premiere in Los Angeles held on July 26, 2025.
Bugonia, co-produced by Stone and Lanthimos, will be released nationwide on October 31, 2025.
