Dave Scott, who was known for his choreography in movies like Step Up 2: The Streets, passed away at the age of 52.
The star, who hailed from Compton, served as resident dance designer on infamous So You Think You Can Dance.
The news of Dave’s death was announced on Instagram by his loved ones on Tuesday which read: “it is with heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved Dave Scott.”
The post’s caption noted that the untimely passing of Dave “will send ripples through time.”
They concluded the obituary by asking for “donations to contribute towards memorial arrangements” of the teacher.
Fans flooded the comment section to express their misery as Bryan Tanak, who previously dated Mariah Carey, offered his condolences: “You inspired so many including me.”
Kevin McHale noted that the deceased star “was like a big brother to so many of us… Watching him dance and teach was a gift.”
However, his family has not specified the cause of death of the hip-hop dance teacher.
