The Black Entertainment Television awards return for its 25th anniversary to honour people in black culture, including actors, musicians, writers, filmmakers and others.
American comedian and actor Kevin Hart led the celebratory event that included dazzling performances, poignant reunions, and prestigious tributes by some of the biggest stars.

American rapper, Busta Rhymes, was the star of the evening, spruced up a classic black-and-white tux with a dazzling jewelled brooch on the lapels.
He had black gloves to match, a massive cross that sparkled, and the overall outfit was complemented by some Benjamins in his coat pocket.
The host of the evening and laughter king, Kevin Hart, cracked some jokes about Cardi B, Playboi Carti, Kanye West and more.
However, he own giggling while jesting at the Ultimate Icon Award winner Kirk Franklin.
“Kirk, do me a favour. When you get your award tonight, don't come up here front twerking,” he joked, laughing through his words, “He be trying to blame it on the Lord. The Lord didn't ask for that.”
Former presenters of American hip hop and R&B music video show 106 & Park, Big Tigger, Keshia Chante, Free, Julissa Bermudez, and Terrence J reunited to take the audience back to memory lane as they sang hits from the aughts.
Ashanti began the elaborate tribute with "Rock Wit U (Aww Baby)" and "Foolish," followed by Amerie, Mya, Keyshia Cole, T.I., B2K and Bow Wow.
BET Awards were scheduled for three and a half hours but were stretched for an extra hour and 15 minutes, not included in the schedule.
Although celebrating talent is loved by fans across the world but no awards show should run so long enough to bores people.
American rapper and singer Doechii won the best female hip hop artist, winning the BET Award for the first time, and gave an emotional acceptance speech.
The rapper didn’t forget to mention the Los Angeles protests while she delivered her speech.
“As much as I’m honoured by this award, I do want to address what’s happening right now outside of the building,” she began after mentioning her fellow nominees. “There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order.”
She further added that everyone deserves a fearless life in the hope, "I hope we stand together, my brothers and my sisters, against hate and we protest against it. Thank you, BET.” She concluded
