Miley Cyrus is joining the conversation about Billy Ray Cyrus’s whirlwind romance with Elizabeth Hurley, after it has been remarked on by the internet and the pair’s inner circle.
The Wrecking Ball hitmaker candidly reflected on her outlook about the Achy Breaky Heart crooner’s relationship with momager Tish Cyrus, in the past and how its changed throughout the course of her life, as well as his relationship with the Bedazzled actress.
"I think timing is everything. As I’ve gotten older, I’m respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents — because my mom really loved my dad for her whole life, and I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard," she stated in an interview with The New York Times.
Miley went on to note that when she was younger she took on her mother’s pain and hurt as her own, likely referring to the rough patch during her parent’s marriage and the fallout after it ended.
The three-time Grammy winner noted, "But now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore, and now that my dad, I see him finding happiness, too — I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing. I’m being an adult about it."
Notably, the father-daughter duo has been very outspoken about their reconciliation and prioritization of family in recent months.
Miley Cyrus’ relationship with father Billy Ray Cyrus became strained after her parents got divorced and she chose to value her relationship with her mother, Tish, over her father.
