British actress Miriam Margolyes, who features in the Harry Potter Movies as the Professor Pomona Sprout has opened up about her health struggles.
The 84-year-old acting legend has revealed that she underwent medical procedure to avoid having any more open heart surgery after 2023.
The actress said that she had an aortic valve that was no longer functioning properly and was replaced with a valve from a pig.
Miriam believed she does not have a long time to live and will die in a few years, as she opened up in a new emotional interview.
“When you know that you haven't got long to live – and I'm probably going to die within the next five or six years, if not before, I'm loath to leave behind performing. It's such a joy.”, she told The Times magazine.
Talking about acting amid her deteriorating health, Miriam said she is not “strong enough” to play roles.
In an old interview, Miriam revealed she can not walk properly anymore and is registered as disabled.
Miriam is known for her blunt speech, amusing mannerism and larger-than-life presence.
