K.Dot is enjoying his generational run that started last year and is not showing signs of losing any momentum.
Kendrick Lamar and SZA are currently co-headlining the Grand National Tour, which was announced last December to further promote the 37-year-old’s Grammy-winning album, GNX.
The all-stadium tour consists of 39 performances across North America and Europe, with the first show being held in Minneapolis on April 19 and the last in Stockholm on June 18.
The Compton native made a stop over the weekend at Sofi Stadium near his hometown where he was also joined by his Peekaboo collaborator AZ Chike.
The three-night concert helped GNT become one of the top five highest-grossing hip-hop tours in history.
According to Hip Hop All Day, Lamar’s GNT has so far earned over $112 million, surpassing his own 2023’s The Big Steppers Tour which raked in $110.8 million.
This success comes as the singer’s collaborative song with SZA, Luther, also set a new record after topping the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 straight weeks.
The track, titled after R&B legend Luther Vandross, was released on November 29, 2024, as the third single from GNX.
The song has now climbed to number 15 on the list of all-time longest-leading hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The chart dates back to 1958, meaning only 14 other tracks have managed to stay at the top for more consecutive weeks than Luther.
Rolling Stone reports that the cheapest tickets for Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s Grand National Tour are around $107, with some vendors also offering the passes at about $150.
