Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, which was a first of its kind interactive film set in the Black Mirror universe, is being pulled by Netflix.

Having been released in 2018, they will also be taking down the interactive special, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs The Reverend.

These were the only two interactive projects of its kind on the platform, marking the end of the initiative.

However, the service is ramping up their focus on games, featuring a brand new home page including games that have been described as interactive such as Too Hot to Handle 3 and Oxenfree.

A rep stated previously that the technology behind projects such as Bandersnatch had “served its purpose, but is now limiting as we focus on technological efforts in other areas.”

Starring Fionn Whitehead and Will Poulter, the synopsis for Bandersnatch reads, “Stephan, a young programmer, tries to adapt a dark fantasy novel into an interactive video game. However, as he preoccupies himself, his version of reality blends with a murky dream-like state.”

It inspired the Season 7 episode Plaything which saw the return of Poulter as the game genius.
