Australian actor Jacob Elordi, best known for his role as Nate in Euphoria, has been casted to play the role of Heathcliff in the upcoming adaptation of the 1847 novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
The actor shared how he got offered the role when he was planning to take a break from acting after a busy few years.
“I was really lucky. I was going to take a break for a while, and then Emerald just very simply texted me, and you can’t run from that text”, he said while talking to IndieWire.
Jacob, who is currently also filming for the season 3 of Euphoria, opened up about how it was like to work with a star like Margot Robbie, who will play the role of Catherne Earnshaw.
“She’s incredible in the film, she’s a livewire. I’m so, so excited for people to see it. She’s a beautiful actor and she gave so, so much.”
Wuthering Heights is slated for a February 2026 release under the production company of Margot Robbie and will be directed by Emerald Fennell.
Jacob Elordi dated his Euphoria co-star Zendaya during the filming of the show. They were often seen together but never confirmed their relationship until it reportedly ended in 2020. Zendaya later got engaged to Tom Holland and Jacob is currently dating Olivia Jade Giannulli.
