Demi Moore discusses losing Oscar to Mikey Madison

Demi Moore has now revealed a surprising detail of the viral moment in which Mikey Madison bagged the Oscar in a category they were both nominated for.

The Disclosure actress had looked visibly upset after hearing Mikey Madison’s name being announced for Best Actress, but she has now stated that she was anticipating it.

Demi, who was nominated for her role in The Substance at the 97th Academy Awards, was also the strongest contender for the win amongst netizens.

However, she told Time Magazine that during the commercial break before the prizewinner was declared, she foretold the moment to her manager.

“I leaned over and whispered to my manager, ‘I think it’s going to Mikey.' I don’t know why I knew, but I did,” Demi told of her intuition.

She continued describing her emotions, saying, “I was so centered and calm. I didn’t feel gutted. I didn’t feel any of those kinds of things.”

The 62-year-old did note that, “The physical, human part that has ego, of course, has disappointment,” which could serve as an explanation for her initial reaction.

Notably, Demi was also snubbed in the Best Actress category at other prestigious award shows such as the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
