Jazmine Sullivan breaks her silence about trauma from miscarriage and her mother's death
Jazmine Sullivan shared a heartfelt Instagram post after her birthday expressing her grief over losing her mother and her latest struggle with miscarriage.
As Jazmine marked her 38th birthday, her post revealed a mix of complex emotions. She was feeling sad and missing her mom, as the post reads, “Whew.. thank yall for ur birthday wishes. Leading up to my birthday has been incredibly hard as I've been thinking abt my mother and missing her more than words can say.”
She noted, “I woulda have been holding my 2-month-old son that I never got to meet."
“So needless to say I've been down bad," she further added, while unveiling the trauma.
On July 22, 2023, the Pick Up Your Feelings singer’s mom, Pamela, died due to breast cancer. Recently, she had a miscarriage which made things even harder to cope with the latter pain.
On Thursday, the Excuse Me singer felt better after a massage that helped ease her emotional pain.
She shared, “that helped to release some of the deep pain I've been holding in for a while.”
The Insecure singer despite facing severe challenges appreciated fans' support and requested them for more prayers.
“I'm also grateful that so many of you think of me and take the time to write! It's all so beautiful!! Please continue to pray for me as I heal from life's ass whooping,” Jazmine stated.
