Anna Faris is revisiting a disturbing 2019 experience when a holiday with her family took a dangerous turn from carbon monoxide exposure.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast on June 4, the actress noted, “There was a lawsuit, so I can’t share too many details. But carbon monoxide is odorless and deadly.”

She explained that the group had been spending Thanksgiving with “all the heat going” and windows closed, when several people began experiencing headaches, fatigue and sluggishness, which they initially dismissed as altitude sickness.

"At the Lake Tahoe emergency room," she recalled, "they had the wisdom to check his carbon monoxide levels in his blood."

"Next thing you know, my husband and I were passed out," she continued.

"And we were being shook awake by firefighters. I have this hazy memory of being told how lucky I was by a firefighter. It was awful."

Following the incident, the House Bunny star mentiond that the family now travels with a portable carbon monoxide detector as a precaution.

However, in 2019, she first thanked first responders online, writing, "I'm not quite sure how to express gratitude to the north Lake Tahoe fire department," she wrote at the time, alongside a Thanksgiving photo.

"We were saved from carbon monoxide- it’s a stupidly dramatic story but I’m feeling very fortunate."

Meanwhile, the authorities later described the incident as a close call, urging travelers to ensure alarms are working in all accommodations.
