Katy Perry stuns at Breakthrough Awards ahead of historic space flight

Katy Perry made a spectacular appearance at the Breakthrough Awards in Santa Monica on Sunday, wearing a glittering silver gown.

The 40-year-old dazzled in the futuristic dress, which concealed her hair while showcasing her assets with its attractive upper body cutout detail.

As the singer walked the red carpet at the Oscars of Science, she wore light makeup and her hair was styled in a 1920s gel curl.

Katy chose to strike serious poses in most of her photos but she couldn’t help but smile in others as well.

Notably, Katy is attending the event just one week before she and Blue Origin are scheduled to travel to space.

This will be the first all-female space flight since 1963 and the hitmaker will be a part of it.

The Dark Horse singer, who has famously sung about space in songs like E.T., claimed to have had space travel dreams for more than 20 years.

"I was looking into all of the potential commercial options," she told ELLE. "I was like, 'Sign me up!' even when Blue Origin first mentioned commercial space travel. First in queue is me."

Katy continued, "And then they called me, and I was like, 'Really? I get an invite?’ And then they told me about it being the first all-female crew."
