Justin Vernon, the frontman of indie folk band Bon Iver, is looking back on a central moment that changed everything.
The 43-year-old talked candidly about working with Taylor Swift during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, April 2.
The singer said, ”I’m out of body,” when asked about his feelings towards the 35-year-old performing their collaboration during her Eras Tour and the audience singing along.
He continued, ”Unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to sing it with her on her tour. She had the opportunity to join us in singing it, but after watching those videos, I thought, 'Gosh, they sound better than any of me can.'"
"I mean pretty powerful to just see that and to hear how that sounded," Vernon went on.
The Lover singer included the band on the title track of her 2020 album Evermore and the song Exile from her album Folklore.
During the concert a fan recorded the crowd screaming as the pop star started singing the song. The first verse by Vernon was then sung by them.
