David Schwimmer seemed to be annoyed with the beloved show, Friends and his fame associated with it.

The actor, who played the know-it-all paleontologist Ross Geller, recently talked about his irritation with the sitcom’s theme song on the Making a Scene podcast.

“I’ll be really honest, there was a time for quite a while that just hearing the theme song would really,” David revealed, struggling to express his emotions before taking a sigh.

The Goosebumps star then went on to seek reassurance from hosts Matt Lucas and David Walliams, adding “You know what I mean? I just had that reaction. I mean, I just had heard it so many times.”

In response, Lucas quipped, “Well, no one told you life was going to be that way,” quoting the opening line of the theme song David was tired of hearing.

The 58-year-old swiftly agreed with the sentiment, before justifying his dislike by recalling the repeated use of the song for his introduction before interviews and talk shows.

However, the SAG award winner has a newfound appreciation for Friends, the show he did not watch after filming ended, because of his daughter Cleo.

The 13-year-old had discovered the show when she was around 9, and helped flip David’s perspective around.

“I'd be making breakfast or whatever and I'd hear my kid’s laughter," he shared, recalling the wholesome moment.

Notably, the iconic sitcom celebrated its 30th anniversary in September of 2024.
