Seems like GTA fans’ anticipation is boiling to a point that the bosses now have to address the delays.

It has been 16 months since the release of the first trailer for the most anticipated video game in history.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, released on December 3, 2023, showed great promise and sent its fans into frenzy when it revealed that the game itself would be coming out in 2025.

Since then, not many updates have come out from the creators of the mega-successful franchise.

Gamers are getting restless because the first quarter of 2025 is almost over and Rockstar Games still has not announced when GTA 6 is going to be released.

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the second trailer for GTA 6 so they can hold on to the hope of playing the latest instalment of their favourite franchise sometime this year.

In comes the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, to address fans’ concerns.

On March 28, Strauss Zelnick spoke to Bloomberg’s Wall Street Week to explain the rationale behind the second trailer delay.

"We think you need to create enormous anticipation on the one hand. It takes a long time to develop these big, robust experiences. Rockstar Games seeks perfection in what they do and perfection is a pretty high bar,” Zelnick talked to news anchor David Westin.

Zelnick continued, “The anticipation for that title maybe the greatest anticipation I’ve ever seen for an entertainment property. And I’ve been around the block a few times and I’ve been in every entertainment business there is.”

The CEO disclosed that the second trailer would drop “close to the release window” to build up the hype for the game itself. He finished by acknowledging, “We don’t always get it exactly right but that’s what we trying to do.”

GTA 5, the last game of the series, was released 12 years ago in September 2013.
