Gigi Hadid takes first step towards reconciliation with ex Zayn Malik

American supermodel Gigi Hadid started dating former One Direction member Zayn Malik in 2015 following his departure from the band and break up from then-fiancé Perrie Edwards.

The couple had an on-and-off relationship that was heavily scrutinized until their break up in 2021. The pair welcomed a daughter, Khai Hadid Malik, in September 2020.

The duo broke up after reports of their relationship going sour because of Hadid’s mother Yolanda Hadid.

Although the two celebrities remain strictly private about their personal life, Hadid gave a rare insight on their relationship and co-parenting their daughter as she is currently dating actor Bradley Cooper.

“Zayn and I do our custody schedules months in advance. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t change here and there, but we help each other out and have each other’s backs.” said the Victoria’s Secret model in an interview with Vogue.

Hadid also spoke about the struggle of having a very public life saying “There is the hard part of the world knowing this much, and thinking they know everything.”
