Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson announced on her Instagram that she is expecting twins with partner Zion Foster, who she had been dating since January 2023.
In a new video posted on March 5, the singer shared a heartbreaking update on her twin pregnancy with partner.
The mother-to-be revealed that she has been facing complications with her pregnancy as she has been diagnosed with pre-twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. This results in the babies sharing a placenta, which could lead to potential health risks.
Nelson broke down in tears as she opened up about the health condition of her unborn babies. “So we are having identical twins which is so exciting – we cannot believe it. But, unfortunately, there are complications that come with having identical twins.” said the musician.
“The type of twins we are having are called mono/di twins and so normally most twins will have two placentas that they feed off of. But when you have mono/di twins, that means your twins live off one placenta which can lead to lots of complications.” she added.
Even with treatment only 70 percent of both babies survive in such cases, 90 percent if it is left untreated.
Previously, the singer’s former bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock also gave birth to twins in August 2021.
