Timothée Chalamet, who played Bob Dylan in biopic, was awarded his first major accolade for his outstanding performance in the movie.
The Hollywood A-list actor expressed his gratitude by remembering his mother and then recalled his struggle for the character in his acceptance speech.
“I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role, and how much this means to me, but the truth is, this was five and a half years of my life.”
Although Timothée was highly honoured for winning on the evening of SAG, he made an emotional promise to himself.
“I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats,” the actor continued as he held the trophy sky-high.
Before leaving the stage, the Wonka star added, “this doesn’t signify that, but it’s a little more fuel. It’s a little more ammo to keep going. Thank you so much.”
A week ago, the Dune lead opened up about his traumatic past as a struggling actor in 60 minutes interview.
The Call Me By Your Name artist disclosed about his old residence in the episode as he stated the phase “actually terrified me of becoming an actor.”
Earlier in All Things Considered podcast, the Oscar nominee unveiled all the work he did for the film, which includes physicality and behaviour.
The 39-year-old actor continued, “something we haven’t really talked about, I also put on 20 pounds because, believe it or not, I was thinner than the guy.”
For the unversed, Timothée Chalamet, who is dating fashion mogul Kylie Jenner, is in the list of Academy Award nominees for his role in Bob Dylans’s biopic, which is scheduled to air on March 2, 2025 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
