Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds’ publicist demands removal from lawsuit

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ publicist, Leslie Sloane has officially filed a request to be taken out of the $400 million lawsuit filed against them by Justin Baldoni.

Her attorney, Sigrid McCawley, filed for it in the New York federal court, asking for her and her PR firm, Vision PR to no longer be on the countersuit against the couple and the publicist.

The claim insists that she has been unfairly pulled into the legal battle which is a "smoke and mirrors exercise" that seeks to distract from the accusations of sexual harassment and running a smear campaign, according to the Daily Mail.

They also went on to refute the claims that Sloane had been a part of running a defamation campaign against Baldoni or been behind the planting of harmful stories.

Defending Lively, claims of her having taken over creative control of the film It Ends With Us were also refuted as it was stated, 'Baldoni's allegations about the creative issues are irrelevant and tellingly sexist.'

'Because Ms. Lively — an executive producer on the film — dared to offer input on the script, wardrobe and editing, Baldoni blasts her as "tyrannical" and "aggressive," the attorney continued.

“When Ms. Lively bravely spoke up about Baldoni's predatory behavior, he and his team used every weapon in their arsenal to blame, embarrass and silence her, going so far as to hire a crisis PR manager who promised to 'bury' Ms. Lively and 'destroy' her life,” added McCawley.

Calling out Baldoni’s past, she said, “Baldoni has spent years profiting off the feminist and #MeToo movements, peddling books, podcasts, TED Talks, and more using slogans about believing survivors, ending victim blaming, and promoting informed consent.”
