‘The Odyssey’ by Christopher Nolan: 1st look revealed

The first look at director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming star studded film, The Odyssey has been revealed.

Dropped by the film’s official X account, it shows Matt Damon donning the garb for his character in the flick, Odysseus.

The expensive cast also includes stars like Zendaya, Tom Holland, Mia Goth, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal and John Leguizamo.

The caption alongside the shot read, “Matt Damon is Odysseus. A film by Christopher Nolan, #TheOdysseyMovie is in theaters July 17, 2026.”

The Odyssey, based on the epic written by the Greek poet Homer around 2000 years ago, follows Odysseus as he attempts to make his way home after the Trojan War.

Universal Studios described the flick as a “mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time.”

Along with his role as director, Nolan has also written the script and will be working as the producer as well.

It was revealed by Variety previously that one part of the film will be filmed in Sicily, while production will be taking off on the Island of Favignana.
