Reviews drop for Netflix’s new thriller series ‘The Åre Murders’

The popular streaming service, Netflix has just dropped a brand new crime thriller series called The Åre Murders, and early reviews have dropped.

“A Stockholm detective under internal investigation heads to a ski resort to unwind, until a young girl's disappearance compels her back to work,” reads the synopsis to the Nordic series.

“The Åre Murders uses intriguing premises to craft two enigmatic stories but lacks development on the central characters leaving the arcs a bit underwhelming,” reads a critic review on Rotten Tomatoes.

“The Åre Murders, on Netflix, is quite entertaining as a casual watch but the odd formatting seems disjointed,” remarked another.

Audience reviews criticized the writing of the series, as one user claimed, “Extremely disappointed, way too slow and much too predictable! Not much chemistry amongst the characters! Just plain boring, The only good thing for me was that some of the episodes were quick! In the 2nd case just felt like the writers got bored and just said enough and the ending was just kind of off. I was looking forward to this series but for this viewer it was a letdown!”

Other similarly critiqued the growth and chemistry of the characters, “A bit generic and with very little time for the characters to develop,” mused another user.
