Phillipa Soo joins the cast of Ryan Murphy's 'Dr. Odyssey'

The cast of Ryan Murphy's forthcoming series, Dr. Odyssey, received a boost with the inclusion of Philippa Soo.

As per Variety's report on Tuesday, April 16th, Philippa Soo, known for her role in Hamilton, is set to join the ABC series alongside the already confirmed cast, which includes Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson.

While character details and the plot of the series are being kept under wraps, some sources have hinted that Dr. Odyssey is a medical procedural set aboard a cruise ship.

It's anticipated that the upcoming series will premiere during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.

Murphy, along with Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, is co-writing Dr. Odyssey. Additionally, they are all serving as executive producers for the upcoming venture, alongside Jackson.

Additionally, Eric Paquette, Eric Kovtun, Alexis Woodall, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich are also serving as executive producers for the series.

Moreover, Soo, known for her portrayal of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton in the original Broadway production of Hamilton, has received numerous accolades, including Tony, Grammy, and Emmy nominations for her outstanding performance in the musical.

She has an impressive array of film credits to her name, including roles in Tick, Tick...Boom! as well as appearances in television shows like Dopesick and Shining Girls.
