Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied reportedly ended their marriage after the latter was caught in an affair
News of Natalie Portman’s split from her husband Benjamin Millepied was allegedly a consequence of the latter’s affair with a woman who was almost half his age.
According to reports, the chorographer had a secret fling with 25-year-old Camille Étienne which did not sit well when Portman found out.
Prior to their split, Millepied was understood to be "doing all he can" to mend his relationship with Natalie.
As per reports, the pair were in the process of solving their marital problems after Millepied and Étienne ended their affair but things eventually fizzled out.
"It was short-lived and it is over. He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together," the source told People.
"Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy."
Who is Camille Étienne?
For the unversed, Étienne is an environmental activist who has notably been fighting for climate change social justice as per her Instagram page, which boasts of nearly 300,000 followers at the time of writing.
The 25-year-old has made multiple short films and documentaries with appearances on France’s national TV.
In her appearance on chat show Ce Soir in November 2022, she said: "Politicians who want to deny us this right want to maintain the status quo and prevent any world transformation. We will not have it."
