Selena Gomez has quashed rumours of her friendship ending from her longtime friend and kidney donor Francia Raisa with a touching tribute on her birthday.
The singer revealed that she and Raisa were still close friends after sharing a post on Instagram with a touching caption as well as a photo of the two pals appearing to be very close.
In the caption, Gomez called the 35-year-old a "special human being" and shared a photo in which the two appeared to be enjoying a breezy car ride on a convertible car smiling ear-to-ear with each other.
"Happiest of birthdays to this special human beings," she wrote to her pal.
"No matter where life takes us, I love you."
Gomez's special message to her pal comes months after she addressed talks of brewing tension between them, owing to the Wizards of Waverly Place star calling Taylor Swift as her "only friend in the industry".
In a since-deleted comment, Raisa opined "interesting", causing many to speculate that the two were no longer friends.
Later on, a TikToker user weighed in their thoughts on the drama to which Gomez jumped in to clarify, "Sorry I didn't mention every person I know".
In the midst of all this Raisa began receiving criticism as she told TMZ back in May, "It's not good at all. It's not fun either."
"Now I'm being bullied as I am and it's messing with me mentally," she confessed.
"To me it's not what anyone wants for someone and she's literally out there saying please stop, so I don't understand why it's not stopping."
For the unversed, Gomez was diagnosed with lupus in 2014 and as she grappled with her health, it took a steep decline in 2017.
With her life on the line, a kidney transplant was the singer’s only option which was when Raisa emerged to be a match.
