Gigi Hadid delighted fans by shedding light on the origins of her relationship with Joe Jonas.
Despite their recent public debut as a couple, it turns out their connection dates back to a chance encounter at the prestigious GRAMMY Awards in what we believe was 2010.
Recalling their initial meeting, Gigi shared, "We crossed paths at the Grammys when I was just 13 years old."
It seems that even at a young age, the sparks were flying.
The surprising revelation continued as she disclosed that Jonas, now a heartthrob vocalist, had mustered up the courage to invite her to a baseball game.
However, Hadid's response at the time was an unexpected, "No."
According to the photographs, Hadid's stepfather, music producer David Foster, brought both Hadid and her mother, Real Housewives star Yolanda Foster, to the ceremony in 2010.
This would have made Hadid 14 years old at the time, rather than 13 as she initially stated. Jonas, who is six years older than Hadid, was also present at the event with his brothers, Nick and Kevin Jonas, during their Jonas Brothers era.
While it's possible that she simply made an innocent mistake in recalling her age during their meeting, it raises questions about the accuracy of her recollection.
Despite the age discrepancy, Hadid vividly remembers the nerves she felt on that day, confessing, "I was so nervous; I literally didn't even know what it meant to hang out with a boy."
She further revealed that she declined Jonas' invitation due to having school the next day, wanting to keep that fact hidden.
In an intriguing twist, Hadid shared how her mother played a role in their connection.
At the time, Jonas, who would have been 19 or 20 years old depending on the actual year, wrote his phone number on a piece of paper and handed it to Yolanda Foster.
During a recent interview, Hadid reflected on their journey, stating, "And then we've been friends ever since.
Except now. We're more than friends. Obvs."
