Why Taylor Swift didn’t show up at AMAs? Shocking reason revealed

Taylor Swift made a surprise no-show at the 2026 American Music Awards in Las Vegas on Monday night, despite dominating the nominations with a whopping eight nods.

The 36-year-old pop megastar, who was expected to be one of the night’s biggest winners, did not attend the MGM Grand Garden Arena event on Monday and, in a surprise twist, also did not pick up a single award.

Notably, categories included Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and multiple pop and song nominations for her The Life of a Showgirl era, as well as Song of the Summer honours, but the night ultimately passed without Swift collecting any wins.

Fans were left stunned when she didn’t appear at all.

According to reports, the Opalite singer was instead in New York City, laying low with fiancé Travis Kelce as the couple reportedly gear up for their upcoming wedding. 

Sources claim the pair have been enjoying quiet dinner dates around the city, and even attended a separate wedding together while staying under the radar.

Despite keeping their wedding plans tightly locked away, speculation is swirling. 

Earlier comments from the Grammy winner suggested she’s now open to ideas she never previously considered, admitting she never really thought about weddings until meeting Kelce.

Insiders say the guest list could be nothing short of A-list chaos, with names like Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Zoe Kravitz all reportedly in the mix, though nothing has been confirmed.

While some reports suggest a July wedding date in New York, another source has firmly poured cold water on the rumours, insisting: “That’s not when that wedding is happening.”
