Priyanka Chopra’s decades-long career hasn’t been without a bunch of hitches.
In an interview with The Zoe Report earlier this week, the 40-year-old actress recounted a “heartbreaking” instance on set during her early days of acting.
"I'm undercover, I'm seducing the guy—obviously that's what girls do when they're undercover," she narrated. "But I'm seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing [at a time]. I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, ‘No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise, why is anybody coming to watch this movie?'"
The Citadel actress went on to clarify that the unnamed directly didn’t address her with the command, but rather instructed the stylist in front of her. "It was such a dehumanizing moment."
"It was a feeling of, ‘I'm nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important,'" she added.
The Miss World alum ended up walking off the project, but not before repaying the entire expenses spent on filming at the time to get out of the “unsettling” environment.
"I just couldn't look at him every day," she admitted to the host.
