Ben Affleck feels like flying in the ‘Air’.

Standing ovations were given to the film that Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Viola Davis, and Chris Tucker were in on Saturday night at South by Southwest.

Even without the presence of its subject, basketball great Michael Jordan, "Air" won the audience award right away.

One year after "Everything Everywhere All at Once," which made its SXSW debut and went on to win seven Oscars, the Austin festival debuted yet another blockbuster hit.

The inspirational movie "Air," which was helmed by Affleck and written by Alex Convery, was met with thunderous applause when its credits rolled as well as continued cheering throughout.

This was especially the case in scenes where Davis played Deloris Jordan and bargained with Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro (Matt Damon) for the value of her son.

The movie chronicles the beginning of Nike's Air Jordan shoe line, which was inspired by Vaccaro's unwavering faith in Michael Jordan (Damian Young) as a rookie.

Ben Affleck wants to find people who will  ‘Just do it!'

Affleck not only directed the movie but also played Phil Knight, the co-founder of Nike, in it. He attributed his sense of pleasure in the end result to his co-stars.

“My entire directing strategy is to find brilliant people and say, ‘Just do it!'” Affleck said in the post-screening Q&A, playing on Nike’s famous slogan.

“I’m not kidding. I feel like I just got to bear witness to all this performance and energy and their own authorship that they brought.”

“I’m lucky enough to be part of telling this story that has a resonance about value and worth and things far beyond what I can pass for authorship, into the deeper parts of this country and how we regard ourselves and one another,” he continued.”
