Jimmy Kimmel cannot get over the Oscars slap incident 

Jimmy Kimmel, who will be hosting 2023 Oscars ceremony, thinks that the last years' event was unfortunate and everyone should move past it now that the new event is nearing. 

He is gearing to host the 2023 ceremony for the third time on Sunday March 12 which will air live on ABC

Will Smith slapped Chris Rock hard across the face as the latter joked about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and this one slap became a hot topic of discussion and people like Kimmel are still not over it. 

In an interview with People magazine, Kimmel said, "It's still shocking that that happened." 

"For it to happen on Oscars further magnifies the issues to a million times. This incident is something everyone regrets and hopefully everyone moves past it." 

Kimmel has not broken off silence with Smith after the slapping incident but he did reach Chris Rock and praised him for maintaining his cool after being insulted amidst crowds. 

A year ago: Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at Oscars 

One of the most infamous moments in Academy Awards history became known as the slap. the world could not just not stop talking about Will striking the comedian onstage. 

It became the biggest controversies of all times and the public still is unaware if the slap segment was scripted or rather real. 

"Will Smith just slapped the (expletive) out of me," Rock told the audience, "Keep my wife's name out of your (expletive)mouth," shouted Will.
