BTS member J-Hope will be enlisting for his mandatory military training

BTS member J-Hope is the latest member of the K-pop group to enlist for the mandatory military service.

He is the second member after Jin to enroll for the service.

The group’s label Bright Music revealed plans for J-Hope to begin his enlistment process and has already applied to cancel his military postponement.

The label shared a note on Weverse that read: "This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We would like to inform our fans that J-hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. We will inform you of further updates in due course."

"We ask you for your continued love and support for J-hope until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artiste. Thank you."

For the unversed, all South Korean able-bodied men between the age of 18 to 35 must serve in the military for 20 months.

While the K-pop group was exempted from immediate service a while, it was confirmed on October 2022 that the global sensations must fulfill their compulsory military service.

BigHit made the announcement on October 17, 2022 that "BTS members have begun detailed preparations to fulfill their military service obligations, starting with Jin, who will follow the enlistment procedures after he finishes the promotions for his solo release."
