ABC News producer Dax Tejera cause of death revealed

Dax Tejera, the executive producer at ABC News, passed away only a few days before Christmas. He was 37.

The news was announced by the network’s president Kim Godwin with a “heavy heart and great sadness,” who revealed that the late journalist “suddenly died of a heart attack.”

"As EP of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Dax’s energy, passion and love for that show, ABC News, and you, shined every Sunday morning," the note to the ABC News staff read. "That same love was extended to his precious girls.”

Tejera is survived by his wife Veronica and two daughters.

Godwin urged the staff to “hug your loved ones a little tighter” on this Christmas Eve while promising to share more details on Tejera’s demise “in the coming days.”

“And please lean on each another," he advised.
