AJ Michalka unveils she and sister Aly were almost cast for Hannah Montana

AJ Michalka and her sister Aly claimed that both the sisters were nearly cast for the lead roles in Disney's hit Hannah Montana and could have played on-screen best friends.

Following Lisa London, the show's casting director, disclosing the names of the final three women up for the role of Hannah Montana - One-half of the pop duet Aly & AJ, AJ Michalka, offered her version of events, stating they were the network's top picks.

"I adore Lisa London but I have some tea beyond the tea to spill," AJ, 31, wrote via the duo's Twitter account on Monday.

"Gary Marsh originally offered the role of 'Hannah Montana' to Aly and I was offered the role of [Hannah's best friend] 'Lilly Truscott' (I know this so doesn't matter but thought I'd chime in)."

Over the course of his more than three decades with the corporation, Marsh held a variety of positions, including President, Entertainment, and Disney Channels Worldwide.

The sisters teamed up earlier and played the lead roles in the Disney romantic teen comedy Cow Belles.
