Amanda Seyfried has come a long way in the Hollywood industry since her debut role as a Plastic Barbie in the teen rom-com Mean Girls. After being in the business for nearly two decades, the starlet revealed that her anxiety still hasn’t left her alone.
While talking to Willie Geist on The Today Show, Amanda admitted that her body sometimes still go into “flight or fight” mode. She delved into the details of having a panic attack and said:
“Your body just goes into fight or flight. The endorphin rush and the dump that happens after the panic attack is so extraordinary. You just feel so relieved and your body is just kind of recovered in a way. It's so bizarre because it's physiological, but it starts in your head."
The Mank actress is desperate for her fans to know that despite being a prominent actress in the industry, she is still very “normal.”
"I do not have someone waking me up with breakfast in bed, and I'm not chauffeured around,” she went on. "And every time I meet someone new, I'm just so desperate for them to understand that you can talk to me. I wanna connect like everybody else, because I am like everybody else."
Amanda recently got nominated for an Academy Award’s Best Supporting Actress category after she played the role of Marion Davies in David Fincher's Mank. The actress shared her thoughts on the ordeal, revealing that she was asleep when the nominations were announced.
"It hasn't really hit me yet," she relayed. "It's a recognition, it's an achievement that I didn't really set out to expect. I was never desperate for it."
